3D model of vehicle
My first activity this academic year was creating a 3D vehicle. I decided to model a car - Audi RSQ from 2004.
Here are all the blueprints that I have gathered:

In the beginning, getting back to the Autodesk Maya (2020) was not the easiest as I struggled with remembering all the basic tools and options, but after about an hour I felt like I am ready to go.
I started with putting up every blueprint of the Audi that I had, so I could model it with better precision. Then I made my grid much, much bigger. Thanks to that I was able to create a more realistic sized object. After that, I generated a polygonal plane which I cut comparing it to the side picture using a multi-cut tool. I extruded the plane and I kept creating multi-cut loops to model the perfect shape. I kept measuring the differences between my piece and blueprints to eventually eliminate them. The tools that I used the most are: multi-cut, extrude for example when I was modelling tyres, bevel for more details and bridge when I was creating space for the tyres. Unfortunately, I have not used the crease tool, but I would like to do this in the future. Another mistake that I made was when I chose to model the car as one piece, instead of modelling every part separately. It caused the process to be much more difficult. After a while, I realised that my blueprints had unmatching proportions, so I decided to search for real-life photos of the Audi, so I could compare the piece in a perspective. In the end, I looked for any ngons in my model and I eliminated them.
Finally, I assigned a new material for my car - Ai Standard Surface. I changed the colour to black and metalness to 1.000, because I wanted to make it more shiny and modern. I rendered my piece using Arnold in 720p, after changing settings to two times higher. I added Skydome light and I included a colourful background from the "presets" folder. It helped to make my render look more natural with cool light reflecting from the car body.
Here are some renders that I created:
I would like to come back to this piece in the future and finish some details. Next time I will model in Maya I am going to fix my mistakes from this project.
