Base Mesh Creation Pt. 3

In this week I was supposed to create clothes for my character including a shirt/jacket, pants, footwear and additional accessories.

I started by adding my references to every point of view in Maya (Autodesk, 2020). Then, I counted how many layers I need for my character. It turned out that it was 5 as shown below.

To create clothes I selected faces on the body of my model, duplicated it, extruded and then I adjusted it to the references. I tried to avoid making too thick material, so it looked natural. I also fixed feet, so they look more proportional now.

I have noticed that there are some crashes on my geometry, I am aiming to fix them the next time I will be modelling.

I was surprised to find out that if I had my camera far from the model it was crashing somehow, however, whenever I zoomed in it looked normal, so I think it is not crushing but having so many layers may affect my computer and that's why it looks like it. Especially because when I render it in Maya (2020), the model looks almost normal, as the cape is invisible but still better than on the pictures above.

I still need to finish my character . This time I was struggling with the shape of the hood.
